In June, 1962, a convention of the Northern District, MSHCA convened in Berwyn, PA, at Highway Mission, Elder Lillian Jackson was the pastor.  It convened from Thursday, June 21st to Sunday June 24th.  At that convention it was announced that the First PA/NJ District Convention would convene in Philadelphia, PA at St. Paul Holy Church, Elder Lee Vanner, pastor.  So began the history of the Pennsylvania-New Jersey District with innumerable individuals, pastors, and congregations serving and contributing toward the furtherance of the District's efforts for more than half a century.

In its genesis, the District consisted of eleven churches in New Jersey and fifteen churches in Pennsylvania.  Today we have twenty-two active churches committed to doing he work of the Lord.  Bishop Mary E. Jackson was the District Bishop, as well as the Vice President of Mt. Sinai Holy Church of America, Incorporated.  Bishop Elmira Jeffries was President of Mt. Sinai Holy Church of America, Incorporated. In our 55th year the PA-NJ District is under the leadership of Bishop Kenneth R. Coward, who also serves as the Corporate Secretary of Mt. Sinai Holy Church of America, Incorporated and pastor of St. Paul Holy Church in Philadelphia, PA.
